🏷️ Description

Before cloud storage, USB drives and automatic backups, there was the humble 3.5-inch floppy disk.

With a whopping 1.44MB of storage, it carried our homework, important documents and sometimes our entire digital lives. One bend, one crack or one corrupted file, and it could all be over.

A nostalgic tribute to the little disk that held our biggest memories. Now battered, broken and begging to be saved.

Because even old technology deserves a second chance.

Behold! my 286.

This was my beast. And I loved it.

My 1991 Intel 286 computer setup at home

With both 5¼-inch and 3½-inch floppy drives, it ran XTree Gold, Lotus 1-2-3 and Windows 3.0. Later, DoubleSpace helped squeeze every last megabyte out of that drive.

I still remember tweaking CONFIG.SYS - adding DOS=HIGH to free up enough conventional memory to get Wolfenstein 3D running.

That fascination never left. I’m still in tech today.

Every RUZE design starts with a memory like this one.
